Before joining the L.A. Times, Howie was a news editor, copy chief and slot across several Los Angeles County metro daily newspapers, and an autos writer for AOL.
Howie’s writing has been published online at the LAT, CNN, AOL and LA.com, and in print in the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Miami Herald, and numerous other publications.
Early in his career, and before jumping ship to the States, Howie was five years on staff as a web and print editor at the national newspaper of his home country, The Scotsman, which he joined after graduating from Edinburgh University with a Master of Arts (Honors) in Economics and Politics.
