Ximena Bustillo is a food and agriculture policy reporter at POLITICO and author of Morning Agriculture. She previously worked as a legislative reporter for POLITICO Pro's Legislative Compass, an intern in 2020 and was a POLITICO Journalism Institute participant in 2019.
Before joining POLITICO, Ximena was a breaking news reporter for the Idaho Statesman in Boise, Idaho, covering general assignments, crime, courts, coronavirus, protests and education. While at the Statesman she helped spearhead a project to produce up-to-date Covid-19 news in Spanish through print, digital and broadcast formats.
She's a graduate of Boise State University, where she studied journalism and political science. She got her start in journalism interning at the Washington Times, working production for Idaho News 6 and was a news reporter and managing editor for The Arbiter, Boise State's independent student newspaper.
